Through interdisciplinary design collaboration and utilizing generative digital design, additive manufacturing, as well as traditional design and craft methods, this project aims to provide a platform to investigate the possibilities for developing customized shoes in a sustainable way. Manufacturing as we see it today is the result of the industrial revolution that has brought about a world of mass-produced generic products that ignore the individual. Generative Craft aims to challenge the current convention, using interdisciplinary design skills of an architect and fashion designer and by examining how these new technologies can be fused to create a product that is feasible, harnessing the advancements in digital technologies and fabrication.
